With a back drop of a black crisp night sky and bright white stars spread throughout the canvas, the 'Au Soir' mute will capture soft phrases with the intricacies that only a crisp clear night can.

As Stoneback Brass Trumpet Quartet, we perform a piece called, "Au Soir", (translation, the night). Written by George Enescu and Edited by Leonid Chumov. At the end of this work, Enescu calls for a mute. Since it is an overall soft piece that demonstrates the flute like qualities of the trumpet, we prefer using a soft mute sound. We wanted a mute sound that would make the trumpet sound so distant and quite that people would sit at the edge of their seats and wonder how a trumpet could sound so quite. Thus, the idea of the "Au Soir" mute was born. The "Au Soir" mute will put your ears on notice and its exceptional response will help add musical charm to the pieces that demand it. Interested?
